Bailey is a Philly-based theatre maker and performer focused on creating work that challenges the conventions of traditional theatre through silliness and absurdity. This work ranges from divisive mime, to installation pieces, to comedy performance. They are artistically interested in everyday queerness, intimacy, platonic relationships, and social media rituals. They have a BFA in Acting from University of the Arts (class of 2016) They are a company member of Plant Me Here, Ethos Physical Theatre Co., and The Mira Treatman Dance Ensemble. Bailey is an educator at Wolf Performing Arts Center, Theatre Horizon, PHIT, and Philadelphia Young Playwrights. In the classroom, Bailey strives to teach self awareness, trans sensitivity, and social awareness through art making. Their teaching CV is available here. I Love to Match
The first iteration of I Love to Match was created and debuted in Baltimore at Single Carrot Theatre in early December. The second iteration of the piece will be presented at Icebox in Philadelphia as part of The Space Program's Flesh and Mesh exhibit March 20th-April 1st.
