Bailey Roper is a queer, Philly-based theatre maker and performer focused on creating work that challenges the conventions of traditional theatre while provoking joy and silliness. This work ranges from divisive mime, to installation pieces, to comedy performance. Currently, they are most intrigued by pieces that heavily blend personal everyday life and performance. Bailey is primarily interested in movement based storytelling and work that is rooted in the goal of sparking positive social change through absurdity. They are a company member of Plant Me Here, Ethos Physical Theatre Co., and The Mira Treatman Ensemble. Bailey is an educator at Wolf Performing Arts Center, Theatre Horizon, PHIT, and Philadelphia Young Playwrights. Bailey is a non-binary artist and uses the pronouns they/them/theirs.
